Would also add that these rankings will change over the course of the season. The website is clear about this. Will be interesting to see how much the rankings change from beginning to end.

These rankings are based on three factors: w/l, goal differential, and SoS. A team can play a weaker schedule, but if it wins these games and wins them by a lot this team can easily jump in the rankings. Teams should use this information to move up/down in tourney brackets.

For Pride, the question is why has their HS program fallen from being a top 20 team, playing strength of schedules ranked in the top 5-10 and being competitive with top ranked teams fours years ago to now talking about rankings in the 40s and playing SoS in the 50s.

Wow. You seem like you must be an insider on lacrosse tournaments. You're a good resource. Can you tell us how you figured out that Pride played in the LOWEST bracket (as an outsider I don't get to see bracket rankings like you) at ALL tournaments (you are totally dialed in...are you a tournament director with connections) AND MOVED UP IN THE RANKINGS!!?? Like show us empiracally how you were able to get to that conclusion. I think your analysis would be useful in letting USClublax rankings know they made a mistake. Do share and we'll help you out.

Agree to some extent that rankings are a waste of time. However, if you are on a top 5-10 team, I think that puts you in a different category in so far as you will be playing in the top tournaments routinely which puts you in front of more recruiters than if you were on a 20-50 team. Not saying there are not standouts on those teams.

If your DD is on a top 20 team, she’ll typically play in the top tournaments, play competitively, and get great coach exposure.

Madlax HS teams all ranked really low. I do not think this will result in recruiting success.

They may not be accurate when splitting hairs between the teams near each other, but they are decently accurate with the general tiers of top 5, 10, 30, 50 and so on.

Why so bitter? Everyone knows to take them with a grain of salt. Relax.

They have never been very accurate, but somewhat helpful if you’re looking for a ballpark estimate of if a team is good or not before you play them.

It’s a lot like college football. Some of the highest ranked teams don’t have many players drafted.
