I am so not a germaphobe and I'll eat lots of food left out overnight, like pepperoni pizza. But I wouldn't eat a meat-stock based soup that was left out for over maybe three hours. I"m glad your side won, OP.

I'm OP. My side didn't win. I said toss and only a few others agreed with me. I was shocked so many people said it was fine. As of now, it is in the fridge b/c my spouse refuses to toss a perfectly good soup. FWIW, I made TWO soups yesterday so we have a second one and spouse has a stew in the crockpot, so it isn't like we have no food for guests.

Broth is a perfect environment for bacteria, definitely toss for me, and I tolerate a fair amount of risk on food.

The old me would have boiled it and eaten it, but the new me has been seriously ill several times in the last few years and would throw it out. Some serious bugs out there these days.

100% throw it away- that is beyond the borderline of being OK. Why risk food poisoning over turkey soup?!

I would consider boiling it for just myself, but I would never ever serve it to a guest.

Five people were a keep? I'm surprised.

I thought for sure there would be a difference of opionion. Only one responder thought, and it was a throw it out.

I’m op and here was our consensus from the adults:

- OP, sibling and SO of sibling: throw out (x3)

- spouse of OP, sibling, niece, in-laws (2): keep (x5 people)

Gross. Of course throw it away.

Probably left out for about 15 hours. Eat or toss?

I know my position- but the family and guests are divided. Curious what others would do.
