Bowl with spoon is fine. Don’t add gelatin. It tastes weird and is unnecessary if you’re making it day of as you should be. I usually beat mine during the break between dinner and dessert while water is boiling for tea, etc. If you have an electric mixer it’s really quick and easy.

I serve in a large wide-mouth jar (like a short squat mason jar).
If you are keeping it in the fridge, make sure it keep it sealed/covered. It picks up smells.

I've never used gelatin either. I make it in the morning. It lasts 2-3 days.

Yup— in a bowl. Take a spoon and swirl it a bit for a fancy finish, or not. Your guests are going to be so thrilled to have fresh whipped cream they will take no notice. In my family, after it gets put on pies, people just start eating it from spoons until it is gone.

I'm hosting Thanksgiving for the first time, and in addition to several homemade pies for dessert, I am going to make whip cream to top them with. Do I just put it out in a bowl with a spoon? Is there a better way?
