I too find my face gets dry during the day and have also started The ordinary HA serum in the mornings. Not sure if it’s helping too much. I reapply moisturizer midday and that feels awesome. But I’ll be running out of products faster lol. Work office is very dry heat. Might bring in a humidifier.

Thanks for the post!

I'm the Ordinary poster.

Your routine is very similar to mine. I also use Laroche Posay double repair moisturizer in the morning with the Cerave Salicylic serum, and then sunscreen.

At night, I use retinol, then some Ordinary serums, then the Ordinary moisturizer. Let every step dry a bit before going to the next step.

It's really helped my dry skin.

Thank you! I’m the 9:49 poster. I’m going to try the Ordinary product that you linked. I don’t mind trying the Ordinary line because they don’t break the bank. I’ll start leaving more time between applications because if I don’t, I get pilling. I only recently started improving my skincare regime. I’m late to the party lol and Thankful for these ideas.

AM: Paula's Choice Omega moisturizer plus lots of Elta MD Clear sunscreen

PM: same Paula's Choice Omega moisturizer plus their Skin Recovery Replenishing moisturizer on top, and my dry skin is actually never dry, and I use 0.1% Tretinoin on my skin every night!

I have a variety of creams and other products from Herbivore, and I love the texture of the Alpyn Beauty moisturizer. But for winter, I need a extra dab of Avene XeraCalm on my cheeks and eye area, because they still feel dry. I also use it liberally on my hands.

Avene cicapir + is the only thing that works in winter when my skin gets so dry it’s flakey

These are great ideas, thanks from OP!

To my Skin Twin - I never thought to apply that Cerave to my face- that’s a great place for me to start since I already use it as my body lotion

To the Ordinary poster - I never knew that Ordinary makes lotions, too, so thanks for that heads up. I did recently buy their hyaluronic acid serum as an addition to my face routine in hopes to combat this recent dryness I’m experiencing. No complaints about the seeum but it hasn’t seemed to adequately combat the dryness which is why I started looking for a deeper p.m. lotion.

Thank you again to all for your ideas!

I use the Cerave body moisturizer on my face. It's thicker than a facial moisturizer, and I need that level of thickness now.

I don't find cerave very moisturizing for dry skin, even the one meant for dry skin.

I use this:

https://theordinary.com/en-us/natural-moisturizing-factors-ha-moisturizer-100435.html?dwvar_100435_size=100ml&quantity=1&gad_source=1&gclsrc=ds

Very inexpensive, and very moisturizing. It's a bit thick and greasy when you first put it on, so if you are going to use it in the morning and wear foundation over it, you do need to wait a bit to let it settle into the skin. I use this at night, mostly.

I also use serums and oils by The Ordinary. They are good and inexpensive.

and do you use the same one in a.m. and p.m.

I use supergoop daily moisturizer in the morning, and cerave pm moisturizer in the evening.

I think I might need something more moisturizing in the nighttime now that it is getting more cold and dry. I also am debating switching to a regular moisturizer in the morning and religiusly applying sunscreen after instead of the supergoop.
