I switched to table top trees (always real) years ago and I love it. We have a small space and it’s so much easier but I still get all the good feelings.

6 ft. My husband always complains the tree is too short, but the kids and I like that height of tree.

PP here. I set up the tree last night and 7.5 is perfect for me. I have a tree topper that I tie around top branch, so it doesn't stick up much taller than the tree. I have about a 2 inch clearance between the very tippy top of the tree and the ceiling. But that top branch sticks up quite a bit and I think could easily be folded in half, if needed (which would also provide more support to any topper that you place over (or on) the top branch). That is what I did with the top branch on my last artificial tree.

We bought a 7' artificial tree for our 9' ceiling room and it looks just right. I'd say stick to 6.5' for 8' ceilings. But then we have a tall 10" tree topper and I didn't want it that close to the ceiling.

Last year, I had the same issue: 8’ ceilings and forced to choose between 6.5’ and 7.5’ for the Balsam Hill artificial tree I wanted.

I went with 6.5’ and I am satisfied with it, but I could have gone with 7.5’ because I think their trees are a little undersized and there is lots of room above the 6.5’ tree. 7’ would have been ideal but was not an option.

My recommendation: If you are OK with a tree on the petite side, go with 6.5’. If you want a more significant-looking tree and are comfortable with it closer to the ceiling, go for the 7.5’.

4 feet - it goes up on a cabinet because we have dog that would destroy it.

OP - I would read the reviews for the tree you are looking at and see what people said about the actual height when assembled (if it's taller or shorter IRL), but, generally, I would prefer 7.5.

9 foot ceilings, 9 foot tree, and my husband loves me anyway, as he trims the bottom and top every year.

10 foot ceilings, 8 foot tree

We usually do a 7’ tree.

4-ft fake tree. We have 8-ft ceiling.

I usually buy a 7' tree with 8' ceilings. Frasier fir, of course.

And how tall are your ceilings?
I’m going to buy an artificial tree, and the one I want comes in 6.5’ and 7.5’ sizes. My ceilings are 8’.
