Wait, what?! Where did you hear this. Link? CX-5 is Mazda's most popular model!

CX-50 is newer and more rugged than CX-5. CX-5 will be discontinued soon so if you want the newer version, go with CX-50.

Test drive it. I’m short and it had really bad visibility for me. I got a forester and love it.

I like the car and driver reviews - they give you balanced perspective with enough information to help you move forward with putting it on the list - or taking it off. In addition they typically tell you what models they see as their competition: https://www.caranddriver.com/mazda/cx-50

After Car and Driver, I typically go to youtube and watch some video reviews.

What are the vehicles that people would cross shop? I know CX-5 is in the same segment as the CRV, Rav-4, Forester etc. I currently have a 2011 CRV that's reaching the end of its life and am considering the CX-5 for its replacement (as well as the Rav, CRV, Forester...maybe a few others in that genre) but also learned about the CX-50 and am curious to know more about it. Looks very nice, gets good reviews. Is it comparable to the Ravs/CRVs/CX-5s of the world? Seems too small to be comapred to the Pilot/Highlander, etc. I'm just not sure of its audience, what it's designed for, what would make someone go with the CX-50 vs the more traditional lineup of CX-5..thanks
