OMG do not go.

Storytime: my MIL had parainfluenza one Thanksgiving. She said it was "mild" but she went to the doctor 2x before we came because she felt so bad. FIL admitted later that the doctor had warned her both times to isolate and especially to avoid contact with small kids because that was when the mystery liver failure in kids that was possibly linked to adenovirus was going around, and that little kids were getting hit the hardest with the bug.

She lied and told us she was just a little congested from allergies because, I guess, she wanted to see her grandbabies.

We all got it from her, it was 105 fevers and shaking chills, vomiting, hallucinating bad. Our little ones got hit the hardest. It was so selfish and terrible of her, especially when she actually had the audacity to claim our kids only got sick because we let take off their hats outside after running around on the playground.

Day 10 and still have a fever. I would be going in to check that something else is not going on. No I would not visit. Maybe go a few days late and just enjoy over the weekend?

They don't sound "warm" they sound "sick".

That said, how are you travelling? Can you wait it out a few days and see if everyone feels better on Fri/sat go visit? If it's a short drive that would be doable, if youre flying or its a long drive then I'd bail.

I don’t care what they have, if someone is running a fever, I am not going.

+2. I treat covid like any other virus now, so my answer has nothing to do with it being covid. But three people in one house with fevers? I feel like it's near certain your family will get sick. No thanks.

I would just say that the kids are sick and out of an abundance of caution, you will stay home. Wouldn't want any of the "healthy" family members to get what the kids have. We're sad to miss the holiday, but we'll see everyone next time.

And then see if you can find dinner plans at some restaurant. There are a few nice restaurants that have nice Thanksgiving options, although they may be booked at this point.

This is too stressful. I'd cancel.

Also, there're plenty of examples of people getting covid twice within a 3 months period. I might hang out with them for a short period of time, but certainly not a multi-day stay in their germy house.

100 is not "running warm". 99 would be running warm.

They have fevers, I would stay away whether it were COVID, flu or strep.

Assume at least one person there is contagious and plan accordingly. For me that would mean not going but since you just had it you should have some immunity.

My honest reply is that if I really liked and enjoyed this family, I'd still go. If they were my not--favored family member, I would bail.

We are supposed to leave tomorrow to go visit family through the weekend. Unfortunately they’re recently getting over Covid (today is day 10) 3/6 people in the household currently have fevers ranging from 99.2-100.?? 2 of the adults regularly lie about basic stuff so they could have fevers and be lying (1 is the person at 100.?? who is now saying she runs warm which I’ve never heard in the 8 years knowing her, usually that she’s freezing)

What would you do?

For what it’s worth in my family we all have 3 of 4 Covid shots and all but one of us had Covid in September (thanks Kindergartner).
