It refers to cooking meals ahead of time (like on the weekend when you have time) that save okay for 5 or so days and are still pretty good when reheated. A meal prep cookbook includes things like reheating instructions for best taste, how to optimally store (like “dont add the beans till just before warming or they will be mushy.”) it’s a whole thing.

What’s the meal prep fad? I take it you mean something other than preparing food that you are cooking, which is part of cooking …?

I’m late to the meal prep fad and am looking for a good cookbook. I usually love America’s Test Kitchen but their “meal prep” cookbook seems to be more about shopping list/ingredient efficiency rather than stocking fridge with individual meals for the week on Sunday.

If anyone has cookbook or website recs (especially if lots of Mediterranean recipes) I’d really appreciate it!
