Should add it probably gives the school a chance to let applicants know about the automatic $20K annual merit scholarship if they go ED1 or 2. Might convert some applications.

It’s mainly to get you in their system and show interest, which is important to them. I would do it. It has, I believe, a 100 word “Why Grinnell” thing to write. I think there will likely be a supplemental essay in January for RD applicants. It’s historically been a Why Grinnell essay but I’m guessing it’ll expand to a diversity question this year.
