NP- I just went to Whole Foods and they had plenty of cooked hams ready to heat and serve in the meat aisle.

Came here to say that almost every grocery store has ham. It is seriously the simplest thing to prepare -- just warm, slice, serve. Doesn't even have to be particularly hot -- room temp ham tastes great. You don't need to pay the HoneyBakedHam markup.

I forgot to say in OP that the nearest Honeybake is like 30 minutes away and I don't want drive there!

The falls church store isn’t. I just put some slices in my cart. They sell it by 2 lbs.

You can in Bowie. In fact, what you can’t do at this point is pre-order anymore. It’s walk-ins and pick up orders that were placed weeks ago only.

Wanted to add, find a location close to you and do pick up. Looks like my location still has Half boneless (3.75lbs) which serves up to 8 people and cheaper than quarter bone-in which serves 5-6.

Try to pick up as early as possible. The lines are usually out the door close to thanksgiving, so plan on it taking 30-45 mins to pick up. But the lines move fast.

Well that's not the case in Falls Church! Saying BS is rude just because your experience has been different.

I would just stick with turkey. You’ve invited them to your home for a traditional thanksgiving meal, so they shouldn’t be surprised to find that turkey is being served.

And I think it is rude of them to try to control your menu. Maybe they can bring a ham to share with all the guests if it is really that important to them.

Just get some slices from honey baked ham. It’s the only ham worth eating.

Get a Honeybaked; they have 1/2 hams and even 1/4 hams. Otherwise, don’t mess with it, especially this late in the game. What they “do” doesn’t matter so much as what you choose to serve. You’ve invited them to your home—not a restaurant.

Brother and SIL are visiting for Thanksgiving and apparently they don't "do" turkey, but ham. For anyone who has hosted and serves ham, do you buy slices somewhere or some kind of mini ham? Everyone else eats turkey, but I think most would say yes to a slice of ham if it's served!

But I'm not a ham eater so I'm clueless. I did look at Trader Joe's and the grocery store and they have different kinds of ham -- spiral, honey ham, country ham, ham steak, mini hams... What should I be looking for?
