Master bath for sure. A beautiful master bath is more important . Hall baths aren’t supposed to be so elaborate since it’s the heavy traffic bathroom

VERY central and MUCH uglier you say? I'd value doing the more visible one first, especially if it was more in need. That seals the deal for me.
Plus, MBA is likely more square footage/more expensive and likely to need nicer finishes. That could wait and you can save up for that- and if in need I could always enjoy that nicer hall bathroom instead of mine... but I wouldn't want to truck people through my bedroom to take them to my bathroom in order to have a nicer experience.
That is how we ended up prioritizing our current home. And doing the kids bathroom first allowed us to hone in on what we liked/what we wanted to spring for/upgrade. Doing the first bathroom ensured we knew to do the heated floors again and this time to use full slabs instead of tile.

My master and hall bath are perfect mirrors of one another. I chose to update the master first because it clearly had more use over the past 35 years and was showing more wear and tear. Had the hall bath been in worse shape, I’d have done that first.

Interesting, because we do the opposite: make what others view nicer first, and get around to the private stuff later. It took over 15 years, bit we did eventually redo our main bedroom/bath.

Are you planning to sell your house anytime soon? Because if you're not, resale value isn't more imporant than what would make your life at home more pleasant.

Your ensuite bath, 100%. For your central bath just paint and change out the hardware, that's enough of a facelift to make it less "ugly".

Master bath. Make your home nice for you first. Can the hall bath be improved with cheaper fixes? Fresh paint, swaping out fixtures, new linens are inexpensive and quick changes that can tide you over.

Same situation and we chose the master. We don't host enough to make updating it more worth it than a space we use daily.
