Same here. I find Overdrive much easier to search and navigate than the Libby app.

And yes, I 100% agree that Colleen Hoover is awful. I love a good escapist (and easy!) read, but I tried two of her books and found them painfully bad. At this point, I just scroll past her books while looking for something better . . . .

I tend to search for specific books in Lobby. For recommendations, I go to Good Reads or ask here, then go search Libby to see if a specific book is available.

I liked verity (you have my full permission to roll your eyes at me) and layla by hoover. I recognized that the writing was bad, but at least the plots themselves felt new to me. the other books I've read by her are absolute trash and glorify some really bad relationships. they made me feel not so great reading them.

as for browsing libby, I find it easier to just go there when I have books in mind. whenever I try browsing, I feel like I see the same 50 or so books and it's just repetitive and I don't find much new material that I haven't seen before

I use the actual website (http://dclibrary.overdrive.com) and navigate from there. I only use the app once my material is downloaded.

Let me know if you figure it out. I love being able to check books out but I hate the Libby app.

I don’t know to make an author invisible but don’t bother reading Hoover. So, so bad. Poorly written, terrible themes.

Is there any way to exclude an author? When I’m browsing “available now” I’m so sick of seeing nothing but Colleen Hoover books on the first few screens, even when I narrow my search to “literature”.

Also, are any of her books worth reading? Obviously they’re popular (just like Twilight was) but the one I started reading was just so bad I stopped a few chapters in.
