If the turkey is frozen on Tuesday, you will not be able to get it thawed in time. Go today.

It is only our immediate family of four this year, so we just need a small turkey. I looked at Wegmans first without any luck. I happened to stop into Shoppers Food Warehouse in College Park yesterday and they had a section of frozen "Li'l Butterball" turkeys- all between 8 and 12 pounds. I'm sure other chains would have some too.

You could consider just getting a breast for that size.

And you may not be able to get a 12lb one - that’s pretty small.

It really depends on the store. They probably will have them, but Whole Foods may not. Pretty much any standard grocery store will though - Giant, Harris Teeter, Wegmans, Food Lion. You can go any day between now and Tuesday and buy a frozen one. It will defrost in your fridge. Do not wait until Wednesday - it won’t have time to thaw in your fridge.

I need a 12 lb or so turkey to cook for Thanksgiving. do i need to reserve a raw or frozen turkey from WF? or can i just go on Tuesday and they’ll have lots? I’ve never cooked Thanksgiving in DC before, so i don’t know if I’m too late to get a turkey. thanks!
