Really depends on what they do and if you have insurance coverage. Our kid had an expander for a crossbite and brackets this year and it was only $780 total out of pocket after insurance.

Ours cost around $9k several years ago.

Does anyone in your house wear glasses or contacts? We seem to use our on annual prescriptions for glasses, contacts, and non-ortho dental work. Prescription co=-pays have been going up. Perhaps looks at your bills online and see what you pay for all the $25 here and there charges.

Hello. I know the numbers for Orthodontics service fee will change depending on the severity of teeth, plan, etc. We are anticipating to start our son's orthodontics next year (YR2024). Currently, Open Enrollment is upon us and we have to pick our numbers for the Flexible Spending Account (FSA). Our son has overshoot (not sure if that helps), but other than that, does not appear to have the substantial issue (e.g., some teeth coming out sideway and such). We were told from one consultation that no need to pull permanent tooth.

Should we put MAX amount allowed in FSA? Or, should we be more reserved number, like $1000?
What is the safe bet? Thank you in advance!
