I’m 43 and grew up with the pandas, they were always part of my life. I was also teary when they left. I am glad my own kids got to love and experience the pandas too.

I think they’re going to be pretty happy actually, they’re going to have a lot more panda friends to play with back in China.

My older kids were surprisingly nostalgic. My 25 year old told me the next day that she’s never had a day when pandas didn’t live here. We did spend a lot of time at the zoo.

Op - I think part of what made me tear up was that the video and how Fedex handled it was very much like a celebration of them going home - which dh tells me (after googling it bc I was inexplicably crying and I am not a crier) was always the plan. It felt like such a sweet celebration of pandahood and a lovely way for them to be celebrated as they return. ❤️❤️

I must stress that I am not usually like this. Huge emotional curveball.

So mean of China to first let us adopt their pandas and then taking them back.

We never adopted the pandas.

Boy, if the USA acted that way to China’s zoos, we’d never hear the end to it.

They are not ours... They don't belong to us... They were a part of the agreement we should all knew about ... they are going home ...

It is still ok to feel sad about losing those incredibly charming animals. I will miss them too.

It’s very upsetting. Any good will I felt towards China is gone.

What are they going to do with the facilities?

No. I'm an animal biologist. They're just as important as all the other animals.

Yes! It took me by surprise how emotional I was when I saw they left.

It seems ridiculous that they can’t be shared with this part of the world. The zoo keepers here took such excellent care of them and breeding them successfully and all.
