Make a version of this every Passover. Never disappoints.

The rolling is hard, so best to manage expectations.

You need a big, non-terrycloth towel. A thin “tea towel” or “bread towel” is perfect.

You have to roll the cake while it’s still quite warm. Oven gloves or a new pair of dish gloves will help you handle the cake without getting burnt.

Oh I made this last Christmas! Go for it. Even if it's ugly, it's still a fun project and it's delicious. Mine turned out pretty good, but not magazine model good. My 7 year old helped too, until she got bored

I've made it a couple of times with my similarly-aged daughters. It wasn't perfect, but we enjoyed making it and were satisfied with the result. We actually ended up doing it as raspberry instead of orange (looking up recipes for raspberry whipped cream and using Chambord instead of Grand Marnier). I definitely recommend it if it looks fun and good to you and your daughter!

thinking of doing it with my 12-yo DD who likes the idea of baking/cooking but doesn't do very often. but i love swiss rolls and the picture caught my eyes and i'm really hoping we'd be able to pull this off. What do you think?
