Add Albi to the list. But if your choices rooster and owl I’d you want a fixed course meal and red hen if you want to be able to have flexible to order off the menu.

Please OP, don’t go to Del Mar. Overrated and overpriced and does not belong in the same sentence as others mentioned here.

The Red Hen is great. I'd also suggest Primrose, Pennyroyal Station, Little Coco's, and Maketto.

OP here:
Thanks for the tidbit on st anslem and you’re right about el cielo - just checked the pieces. Wow!
Leaning to rooster and a new suggestion from friends, kinship.

I'd cross St. Anselm off the list. One of the worst, most underwhelming meals I've had in DC.

You don't want to break the bank but El Cielo is on there. Might as well strike that from your list - it's $$$$$$$.
I'm a R&O fan.

We’ve been starting date night once a month just recently. We could count on one hand how many dates we’d been on in 5 years (kids, no family options nearby, etc). We’ve already been to imperfecto, 7 reasons and Amazonia recently.
We are considering the following:
Rooster and owl
Red hen
El cielo
St anslem
Any others we should be considering? I know some of these are pricey but we also don’t want to break the bank. Any feedback is welcome!
