Why are your kids 15 at the beginning of freshman year? Maybe the kid is 16?

Why is your kid at someone's house and being driven by their underaged kid and you don't have "contact info" for these parents?

You know where they live right? Go knock on their door. Let them know this was not ok with you. The fact your kid told you likely means they were uncomfortable but felt like they had no choice. Not OK.

Also talk to your kid and tell them the rules around driving and - barring an emergency - they are not to break it.

Can you have their unlicensed kid come pick you up so you can go talk to them about it?

Why would I have an unlicensed kid pick me up? It was bad enough my kid got in their car. I am not getting anywhere near their car.

Why would I have an unlicensed kid pick me up? It was bad enough my kid got in their car. I am not getting anywhere near their car.

I would not my child go to their house again.

You cannot drive more than 1 other teen until you’re 18 in VA, even once licensed.

My kid’s BFF is allowed to drive unlicensed/unpermitted with her dad.

Both of my freshmen DC know better, and would be punished for being stupid enough to get in the car with a known unlicensed driver.

Let the other parents worry about their own kid- they sound like idiots, to put it lightly.

I probably wouldn’t let DC hang out at that friend’s house again anytime soon. Other kid would be welcome at ours.

This is on you for raising a child stupid enough to 1)get in the car 2) tell you about it.

My 9th grader just came back from going out with two friends. They ended up at one friends house. I have never met the parents and don’t have their contact info. DC said that to get to a store 6 blocks away the parents let the 15 year drive my DC and friend. DC said the 15 year old was a very good driver (DC has a 16 old sibling who just got license so is comparing).

I am really upset and told my child don’t do it again. I can’t believe parents let their unlicensed kids drive.
