The extra fridge is #1 for me, especially if some of your guests are staying over. That turkey takes up so much space.

Set out all the serving dishes along with their utensils the day (or days) before and put a sticky note in each one saying what it’s for. Include all condiments.

This is a tip I read years ago and I thought it was overkill but actually it’s a really helpful planning check and more importantly, it makes it really easy for people to help you get the food out when the time comes. If you don’t host big events routinely, you might even do a dry run early enough to fill in dishes you might need, extra tongs, stuff like that.

On Amazon you can buy cardboard trash can things. Those can be great for trash and recycling especially if you’re doing any disposables.

I make a lot the day/s before - all dessert made ahead, most hot dishes are the day before and day of just have to put in the oven. TG is one of my most favorite, easy food holidays!

A good, big crock pot, and a commitment to make your dressing in it. You start it 3-4 hours before dinner, and that’s out of the way.

Change your life by making the Pioneer Woman’s recipe for make-ahead mashed potatoes the day before.

Make your cranberry sauce the day before.

Once you set your menu, pull out your pots/pans/servingware and make a list of what will be used for what. That way you see if you are “double booked” and what you need to buy or borrow.

Wegman’s gravy, or Whole Foods, or wherever has it made in-store and keep it fresh in the deli section. So much easier than fussing with gravy.

Prep things like mirepoix two days before, or buy pre-chopped.

Write out a plan for what needs to happen when, working backwards from serving time.

Reservations for dinner out… and I am not giving cheeky answer. Took me too long to embrace going out and now love it!
