For Indian fusion, Daru gets good reviews and is less expensive than Rasika.
Or you could go to Masala Art in SW and then walk over to the Wharf--less creative but tasty. Rania just got a Michelin star so that could be good.

For different cuisines, Ethiopic on H St, Osteria Morini in Navy Yard, or Lucky Buns at the Wharf?

What do you mean that rasika seems like too much? Too much money or two spicy, etc. ?

Second this!

I also like Laos in town a lot, but if wanting to showcase how the area has changed in the past 20 years, I might pick something around the Wharf or Navy Yard or Shaw.

It's been a while, but I liked the food at Kaliwa in the wharf. Wish it were a little cheaper.

Or you could walk around Union Market and eat at La Cosecha.

You can’t go wrong with any of Jose Andres’ places.

I need help figuring out where to go tonight. Last minute out of town friend who hasn’t lived in DC in 20 plus years. Dinner for 4. We never go out to eat so I’m so out of the loop. Mid range price would be great—in DC. All food types are ok. Indian food was mentioned but Rasika seems like too much. Anything tasty at or near Union market? I Would like to show her new parts of the City.
