If you had one of those portable curb ramps, that might get her high enough that she could sit, and then rotate to get her legs in.

This is a good recommendation. Could also try an Occupational Therapist. Ask her doctor for a referral.

They should be able to help with other things as well: getting in and out of beds and chairs, overall safety in her home, bathing, dressing, etc.

This is actually occupational therapy I think


Both actually can do it. PTs are on every corner and every strip mall which is why I suggested it. And you don’t typically need a script for PT. But really both can do it.

Can she stand? We had to teach a different way of getting into the car. Instead of getting in by lifting a leg and getting in one fell swoop, have her sit first then swing her legs into the car.

My MIL (90) is really struggling to get into the car almost to the point she can not do it. They have a van. Is there a way her wheel chair could go in the back? We have looked at lift seats but the cost is an issue. Suggestions?
