My daughter has done this as a volunteer, but not since the pandemic, so I'm not sure if the hospital where she volunteered still has the program.

OP, what do you like to do? There are so many ways to volunteer--in schools, food pantries and soup kitchens, animal shelters, tax preparation (look up VITA and AARP tax aide), hospice/nursing home, at museums and gardens, and so much more. What are your skills? Do you like being inside or outside? Do you like people (and if so, what ages?) or would you rather be alone or with animals or plants or something?

NP. I think it used to, but with litigation the way it is I don't see how that would work bringing in a volunteer around medically fragile babies. TBH, if I were a new mother of a NICU baby I would not want a strange volunteer holding my baby.

I wonder if you could contact local assisted living places and see if you could just offer to help the old people. My mom’s place has people there whose families never visit. I spent 45 minutes the other day troubleshooting a woman’s iPhone messages.

I'd like to find a steady volunteer commitment. Any idea of how to find out what is available?

Is there a list somewhere on the web? Not sure what cause, in what manner I want to participate, or what population I am interested in working with.
