Our club sent an email today and said that there will be limited seating/viewing area and that there is also something else that is happening at Dulles South as well????

I don't know what that means.

oh okay - I guess you want to compare the bleachers to a pool like UMD - sure they're be no seating then.

There is not a large bleacher area compared to other pools and it is limited for the racing pool.

Kids will be in the bleachers as well. They are not anticipating enough seating.

Friday night's distance events could make for a long evening if your child isn't swimming until a later heat. Coach wants them there for warm-up even if they won't be swimming until after 7pm.

That is the worst. My kid is swimming in the middle of the 500 free at another site and does not have to be there at the start of the session (which includes the 9-12 200 breast before the 500 free). A good and experienced coach should not make a kid swimming at the end of the 500 free show up for the warm up before the start of the session knowing that kid won’t swim until at least 3 hours later.

It’s positive checkin. They need to show up to check in or they don’t get seeded

The coaches check them in.

Weird. Our club told us “ Spectator seating will be extremely limited.”

PP - are you taking into account swimmers will likely be seated in the bleachers?

There is some seating, but the viewing is VERY limited. I think all the volunteer spots are gone too.

It is really far.

The pool itself is a decent racing pool. It was really hot indoors. The seating was very limited and high up. It would be nice if they only let people in for events and walk out, but that is tough to organize.

Younger age groups will have a tough time watching kids swim.

My kid has to be at Dulles South very, very early this weekend (coming from Arlington) and I’ve never been. Is getting there and parking straightforward? Anything else you’ve learned from prior meets there?
