I wouldn't add sausage, oysters or fruit without knowing my audience. I would clarify with the host to confirm if they expect traditional stuffing or cornbread stuffing. I prefer traditional, but it's very family specific.
Pepperidge Farm is fine and non-offensive, just add butter, onions, celery.
Agreed. I would not expect sausage unless you knew that was the tradition for the group.

I agree with this poster. Traditional is best unless you know that they always use one of the extras. I would include mushrooms in the list of not to add unless you know.
