I would expect Parmesan, Mozzarella and other Italian cheeses, yes.

Parmesan is not pungent. Maybe something was wrong with the cheese blend, or some other ingredient, OP.

If it’s a ‘house’ cheese blend and they make it themselves why wouldn’t you ask them ? They should be able to rattle off what 4 are in there

?? There is no rule for house blend. Just like there is no rule for house dressing. A house recipe is what makes them unique. Now you know you don’t like that pizzeria.

Aren't simply mozz and provolone also called a "blend"?

Interesting. Those are "fancy" cheeses, to me. I would expect a normal cheese or pep pizza to just use good mozzarella and/or provolone.

Those are fancy? Did you grow up spraying cheese out of a can?

I thought you were writing about a place that didn’t have parm in it. Sadly, they exist but anywhere decent would have parm in it.

What is a classic cheese pizza? Mozzarella and/or provolone, right? I don't get why restaurants monkey with a gold standard. Good fresh dough, good house sauce, good mild cheese, baked in a good oven.

Your kids don't like parmesan? Dang. My kids would eat a block of it.

Of course I wouldn’t be surprised! I’d work on exposing my kids to the wonders of all cheeses. And lol re Parmesan being pungent.

I’d probably be surprised if it didn’t. Sure I’d expect mozzarella but once you start “blending” other cheeses parmesan seems like the most likely option.

No, not surprised. Cheddar or feta, yes.
