HS districts, regions, and states are the only observed HS meets where times count for USA swimming (and thus used for college consideration), so if you have a kid with any desire to swim in college at any level then your swimmer 1000% needs to skip their hs meet and focus on the club winter championship meet!
Just be aware that skipping too many HS meets (I think at our it is 3+) will disqualify you from competing in districts/regions/states where the times do count for USA swimming.
