I should add that while boys clothes cost less, boys ruin clothes and unless it’s a special dress up outfit, you won’t resell anything from ages 3-10. Neither of my boys made it to the end of Prek-4 with 2 intact knees on the same pair of pants.
The cost issue we have run into is that the oldest one is not quite ready to give his crib, his scooter, his bike, etc. when the younger sibling is ready for the that item - so we have 2 of the same size of many expensive things.
