I don't get the counselor hate. I teach ES and our counselor is amazing, not to mention runs herself ragged all day long with all her responsibilities.

I work at a large, title 1 ES and the 2 counselors we have are truly amazing. They do their jobs well. I would accept this offer!

uh, what? What exactly does an elementary school counselor do if not precisely something like this? I get that in high school counselors are much more focused on scheduling, college admissions, etc. but this sounds great and what I wish there would be more offerings for these kinds of groups in schools.

They did this at my child’s private ES. Sometimes kids are invited to join a small group working on communication and interpersonal skills. They will often try to mix kids who are struggling in these areas with kids who are not struggling, to foster interpersonal skills.

Some kids need it.

Never heard of it but sounds great.

Has anyone gotten an invite through ParentVue? Focused on friendship, making friends, collaboration. There's nothing in the email suggesting my child was selected, just an invite to join.
