My first edition did not have the promised sprayed end papers, which I am sad about. I did purchase it off amazon, so serves me right I suppose.

Is this the Mormon writer? Just heard of it this week and can’t imagine the writing is any better than Twilight.

She left the church 11 years ago.

The writing is very basic. What's more, the publisher is fast tracking the books. The quality of writing in the first book wasn't great and I think Iron Flame isn't as good. BUT it's fun. I'm not exactly in hate-read territory, but I'm getting a little impatient with the lack of development on the main plot.
Did you see all of the publishing issues? Badly handled rollout with Amazon delivering early in Canada and Target and Walmart in the US putting the books on the shelf before the release date, a ton of misprint problems (books printed upside down, entire chapters out of order, poor ink quality, etc). I’d be so mad if I had one of those crappy “special editions.” I only did ebook for these.

All that aside, I’m still enjoying it. It is far from the best fantasy series I’ve read, but it’s fun.

I saw. Kind of knew it was coming when the bookstores started posting about issues last week. I feel badly for people for were excited about it being a special version and got misprints or bad paint jobs.

I wonder if the publisher or author will address it.

I am rereading the end of Fourth Wing to get back up to speed. Then I'll start Iron Flame. There's an article in the NYT about the author, her life, her career and how she wrote the first two books. I found the article interesting.

I don’t know, man. It’s going to be a 5 book series. Plenty of time to introduce and keep new characters.

I’m reading! I’m on chapter 7. Will likely finish in the next two days.

I liked but didn’t love Fourth Wing. Someone described it as adult fantasy romance with YA dialogue, and I think that’s pretty accurate.

Who is reading?

Not going to post spoilers…just want to know if anyone else is reading or has it coming.

I didn’t love-love Fourth Wing, but I want to know what happens!
