I don’t know… Unplanned pregnancies can also make you gain weight. I would talk to your OB/GYN but OP you probably still need birth control at 41. I’m not seeing in the medical literature Mirena leading to that much of a weight gain. Did you have a full thyroid panel and that was completely normal?

I had a Mirena in my early 30’s and now I have one at 40 after kids and everything is completely different. I don’t think it’s the Mirena. I have other symptoms of perimenopause so I’m reasonably confident it’s that.
But if you’re willing to use other BC, I see no reason not to take it out and give yourself a six month reset and see how you feel. I would do at least that long before starting a new hormonal BC because then you’ll have something of a baseline.
At least chat with your doctor about it.
