The kids attending a high SES school who still didn't qualify for Algebra in 7th are not penalized, though. It would make sense to consider math level within a MS for the allocated slots. The kids attending a low SES school who take Algebra in 7th should get a boost. Those kids are likely amazing. Likewise, the Longfellow and Carson kids who don't take Algebra until 8th grade are completely average and not at all TJ material.
