Well, we did have some nightmare posts here about whole foods cooked turkeys being actually still frozen inside when served.

Jacob's Pickles was the best Thanksgiving meal I ever had.

I agree with this. I've done WF for Thanksgiving from the Columbus Circle location, and have done their turkey periodically just because. I am not a fan. If you're there, go taste their sides. You might like them.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to believe someone here has done Zabars catering …

Anyway, Daniel Boloud is too expensive and doesn’t look like they have a full catering menu.

We've done lots of Zabars catering but not for Thanksgiving. I think, let a place do what it does best. Get some great bagels and lox platters from Zabars for brunch the next day.

Fairway on the UWS has good Thanksgiving options. There is also a place in Yorkville but I am blocking the market's name.

Citadelle has great pies ans makes the process super easy. I order from them every year.

Zabars, Jacob’s, aquavit, David Burke, Jean Georges, Alfred portale, Daniel Boulud

Google isn’t the greatest for knowing if it’s actually good or reliable! Ideally they would deliver to me but I could go pick up.

Has anyone done Whole Foods thanksgiving catering recently?

The problem is that this is not a ny forum. So you won’t get a lot of people here who have actually ordered from them. I think Alfred portale’s and Daniel Boulud’s reputations are pretty reassuring that they can pull off an american thanksgiving meal. Are you ues or uws? Try a moms’ forum like Ye’s mommas or hrpmamas

Pp. I have done zabars but not for thanksgiving. It was good, but probably not worth the extra cost. I have done wf thanksgiving, but in London, not in ny. It was serviceable but not anything special. Seriously, ask ues mommas, uws mommas or hrpmamas. So many ny mom groups!

I’m organizing a Thanksgiving in NYC and need to get most of it catered/take-out. Is Whole Foods the best bet for this? Zabars? I don’t want my order to fall through the cracks and don’t know any local places. Any ideas? Will be on the Upper East Side but willing to cross the park.
