If you're in VA, kids who liked Denison seem to like Christopher Newport. Similar combination of 'new' and traditional with a pre-professional vibe to the liberal arts. Also agree with Gettysburg--though I'm not sure it's that much of a safety for Denison.

Fiske Guide does have Elon as an overlap. (Other overlap schools listed are as selective or more so.)

Schools where Denison is listed as an overlap school include:

Allegheny College
College of Wooster
Depauw University
Lawrence University
Ohio Wesleyan University
St. Lawrence University
Wooster and Lawrence have more academic vibes, but this is a pretty good list. Dickinson and Gettysburg also were solid calls. Maybe Scranton, too.

This is a pretty good list of peer schools for Denison, other than Lawrence and Saint Lawrence are fairly distant from Denison and not really peers in the way that the others are.

My DC is at Denison and also really liked Rollins. https://www.rollins.edu

What do you like about Denison?

Dickinson might be a little easier to get into, but it's not a safety.

Wooster may be a little more quirky, and is less sporty, but it would be more of a Target/Safety

Ursinus is definitely sporty but less preppy/wealthy than Denison. It would be a safety.

Check out any of the other schools in the Great Lakes College Consortium.

Depauw University is often referred to as Denison’s “twin.” I’d also look at College of Wooster.

If Denison is a reach, what would be a similar safety?
