Could they go to public school and then just aftercare and zero activities? Sure. I don't necessarily want them to live that lifestyle though.

Where do you live that before/aftercare costs that much? For a 10 month school year, that is over 1k/month. I’m in Arlington and it’s nowhere near that for 1 kid. Also 8k in tutoring sounds like a lot of money for a kid still young enough to need before an after care. A lot of this seems very discretionary.

If you’re just doing SACC during the, day camp in the summer, and 1-2 rec sports a year, you will absolutely save money.
