Go for a drive on GW Parkway. Stop and take a walk on the adjacent trail.

Me too. You also have tulip poplars?

OP here. We did Brighton Dam, and ICC, 97, and 108 were part of our journey. Kids had fun, including at the playground there.

Also it was not crowded at all. Nice to enjoy the peace and quiet!

I wouldn’t go too far for that. Kids don’t quite appreciate it like adults. Pick the closest park with a wooded trail.

I think there is still color in Lake Needwood in Rockville. It’s an easy 2.5 mile loop around the lake.

Scott's Run is gorgeous this week, and you can hike down to the waterfall.

My kid and I were cracking jokes about the gorgeous fall foliage last weekend while driving home from the beach. Background: he’s annoyed we didn’t make it up to VT for legit leaf peeping. But there were some gorgeous stretches of foliage.

The ICC, backroads to Leesburg, backroads to Monticello, straight up 97 or out 108, anywhere near a winery, etc.

Maybe head to the Comus Inn for a late lunch or early dinner?

Most of the trees in my neighborhood have dropped their leaves.

Same! I think we’re only waiting another week or two before we run them over with the lawn mower.

We want to take the kids for a drive and walk this afternoon to see the leaves. We're in Rockville, and don't want to drive more than 45 minutes. I was thinking Seneca Creek State Park, or anyone have other suggestions? We visited Brighton Dam once and that was nice, but never been in the fall.
