My wife has a genetic disorder that causes her extreme low-vision. I am a tournament bridge director and I have a player in my region that has the same genetic disorder as my wife.

Both of them use monoculars to play games. It allows them to use one eye to see things like playing cards or dice or boards up close like putting your face to the item without having to actually put your face to the item. You can find an array on amazon and some of the disabilities vendor web-sites (Maxi-Aids is on of the best out there). Depending on the degree of vision loss, you might have to experiment with which ones will give the right zoom degree. And that is pretty individual, but these are life-savers.

What about an Audible subscription? To listen to audio books.

One of my relatives is severely visually impaired and at this point I would say they are almost 100% blind... they have Lost a great deal of vision this past year. They used to love to play card and board games and so I am trying to think of something that we would be able to get them as a gift like a game. Right now they can't see the numbers on regular playing cards but have a little more luck seeing numbers on dice if they hold them up close. Any ideas?
