I switched to an Android about 6 months ago but one of the many things I hated about my iPhone was glitchiness with alarms. It would just randomly not do them sometimes. I'd go back in and double check that it was set like 14 times, and it still wouldn't go off. There was also a lot of weirdness with the volume control -- the only way to ensure my phone would not make a noise would be to turn it off. But conversely, I would often miss calls or texts because even though the volume was on and I hadn't silenced those callers/texters, my phone would make no noise at all when they came in. It was baffling.
I have a Google Pixel now and so far at least, I haven't had any of these issues. I am kind of annoyed I stuck with the iPhone so long because I think it's actually a pretty crap smart phone.
