I highly doubt OP is an immigrant sliding back to "traditionalism".

More than likely, the people asking these questions on here are not immigrants.

This is definitely not true on any level. In the US, age gaps are more stigmatized than ever. Most DCUMers are too old to recognize the cultural shift but my early 20s siblings have a very different reaction to age gaps than my millennial peers.

19 yr olds are very bad at knowing if they’re compatible with 29 yr olds.

When I was 40 and he started having ED at 51. He thought I was the problem and cheated. I was always thin and took a good care of myself

Starting to realize that problematic has become a rhetorical crutch for stupid people.

Everyone would not say that OP, so your whole premise is wrong

It's problematic in late teens to mid 20s. Not problematic at all 30s-50s. But, depending on the individuals involved, it can become problematic again 60s-70s-80s.

DH and I are 7 years apart, so I'm not criticizing an age difference. But if we were any further apart, I'd start worrying about staying in synch during our golden years.

Twenty years later, I hardly feel the age difference at all.

Wait till you are 60, and he's 71.

Not everyone. I don’t think 19 and 29 is inappropriate, in fact I never dated anyone younger than 28. I actually think that’s an ideal age for a guy, 28-30, so I first dated older, then younger, and then got married to a 29 y.o. when I was 35.

Try 59 and 69, or 69 and 79.

That's where the age gap really shows.

Think long term.

DH is six years older than I am.

Everyone would say 19 and 29 is inappropriate. But is 29 and 39 better or still too much of an experience gap?

But 39 and 49 seems okay too me, still a 10 year gap, but the life experience doesn't seem so drastic. Of course other things such as health concerns may arise

Thoughts?
