Actually playing in college or making a team freshman year? Did both your DD and her friend stay on soccer team all the way through college?

It depends on where you are of course, and what you can pay.

We had great success hiring a young woman who played for a local small college to give private lesson to our daughter from age 11 to 13. We did the lessons with a friend of similar ability and that was a big advantage. The coach could move between the two and they could work on different things to keep the whole practice moving. Example: Crossing and finishing. One kid dribbles down the line and crosses to other moving down the center - who then finishes on first touch if possible. Then switch, then go to other foot. Coach keeps moving between the two.

The college player was happy to do the practices because we paid well - though less than a club coach would charge. And, we worked around her schedule. It built technique and, in turn, confidence. Both my kid and her friend ended up playing in college.

Molly coaches for Arlington, but does private training on the side. She's great.

New Poster here but how to reach Molly and is she a trainer on her own or with a larger organization? Thanks!

Not sure where you are geographically, but Molly Menchel @ Arlington is outstanding. Can vouch for her.

Has anyone found a female performance or private trainer within the Beltway? Our daughter has had some excellent trainers, but I would like to support an existing or up and coming female coach to mirror that back to my kid.
