They do seem to be understaffed. And they're fixing to close a lot of stores, because they overexpanded. It's the kind of thing that makes a person wonder why there is an effort to try to make us believe that it's all about theft.

Yes, there's a nationwide pharmacist staffing shortage.

However, to pretend putting photos out of products on shelves is about a staffing shortage? Wut? Sure, let's make things HARDER for staff during a staffing shortage by making them have to go to a stockroom for every laundry detergent request, that's a great solution! No, product photos on shelves is not about staffing.

We’re in the deny it’s happening stage of rampant crime.

Soon CVS will have to resort to photos of pharmacists and other staff members because their stores already seem to have so few of them.

You can't have entire shelves of goods stolen by the local population and expect a retailer to remain open.

Sadly, these shut downs create more of a monopoly by Amazon and price increases by Amazon (as the local population drove out the local competition.)

Local government officials used to support retailers operating in their cities. Those times are long gone.

When businesses close the tax base drops and there is less money for local government services.

Honestly this is CVS being dramatic. They have insurance and likely want to close to file for bankruptcy to discharge debt. Smart move.

USAO has bigger problems to deal with such as the insurrectionists.

There's an economist article on crime in DC this week. The USAO is declining to prosecute 67% of all crimes, compared to 4% in Philly or 10% in Chicago. Congress has repeatedly overruled DC anticlime laws or appoint a significant amount of judges to help clear cases. So DC voters prefer progressive prosecutors, but federal intervention- most often by GOP politicians - is also a major factor

But let me guess, who cares about billion dollar corporations, it barely affects their revenues, it is insured, yadda yadda yadda.

I hope voters in the city love all of the inconvenience and retail deserts they voted for.

99% voted for this, I hope they enjoy the inconvenience especially when the CVS, walgreens and targets are all starting to shut their doors.

Voting has consequences folks. We'll see if you really want change soon enough....

Agreed. This is what most of the people living near that store, and living in the city overall, voted for. They’re ok with this. Otherwise they would’ve voted for other candidates from other parties. But they didn’t. Therefore they want this.

+1
Zero sympathy. This is what those voters voted for.

Of course! Some people have no second thoughts or conscience about stealing.
