Yup. I don't get wasted. But I enjoy (usually) nice weather and a walk with friends and neighbors. It's a festival kind of feel and everyone is very social. I've seen lots of drinking but never any sloppiness about it.

It's snowing in Chicago and we have gluhwein ready for tonight!

+1. Halloween has gotten to be a social event over the years. It's also common in our neighborhood for the parents handing out candy to be sitting outside around a firepit with an adult beverage.

This is our hood too. If I remember I might grab a beer and drink it while walking around, or take one offered from a neighbor. But it's not really the focus of the night.

We have neighbors that will hand out bottles of beer to ToTing parents, but it’s just one drink. I’m the parent who stays at home to hand out candy, and yes I drink during that time.

We do a spiked hot coffee or cider drink.

We don't, but many parents do. I'd rather have my full faculties when walking the kids around in the dark (and yes, I do drink - just not in this case).

No. But many parents do in our neighborhood. My husband and I find it very odd. But, we don’t come from a culture where you would ever drink at a kid event. And I don’t mean we are not from the US. I just mean we were raised in the south by people that did not think a kid bday party, Halloween, etc was supposed to be a fun adult event.

Used to when my kids needed parental supervision. It’s a thing in our neighborhood. Tons of adults walking around with open beverages. Several houses known for giving Jell-O shots or having a keg.
