I went high end in my kitchen reno and the 30” oven was fine. The 42” SubZero was splurge that I absolutely love. If I had to choose where to use 6” I’d go with the extra fridge space if possible.

There aren’t as many 36” induction ovens as 30” so maybe you should think about what features you want because that might limit you to 30” options anyways. Also, I recall 36” ovens being much smaller than the 30” ovens, surprisingly enough, so the 36” options weren’t appealing.

Same here, exactly. It would be nice one or two days of the year but for the other 363, I treasure the counter space and drawers!

I wouldn’t do it except in a very large kitchen. The prep and storage space is so much more important.

Similar size house, and we went with 30”. It’s never been a problem. I do have a countertop air fryer / convection oven and a countertop induction burner in case I ever need extra cook space - which is about once every year or two. I’m not dedicating space in my kitchen to something I’d use that infrequently.

How large an event will you ever host? If you have a smallish place you probably aren't cooking for 30 very often!

We did the 30 because otherwise the cabinet configuration would not have worked. 30 inch is plenty big for cooking.

Redoing the kitchen. I have 3 kids, and cook all the time. I'm trying to decide between a 30 and 36 inch oven/stove. My house is relatively small (2300), and my kitchen is small-ish. So, each inch really matters.

If you've made this choice, can you comment? And, if you went with 36 inch, which did you choose? Our neighborhood does not merit high-end, so a middle of the road option is sufficient.

We are going to switch from gas to induction.

Thanks.
