Why do you have a ton of swag for one college before she even got in? Did you pump her up about it?

Maybe the school is too expensive? Maybe her GC told your DD this school is beyond her reach? OP, talk to your daughter.

Is it a rolling admissions school? Is it possible that she’s already heard and been denied? I know my DD has already heard from several rolling admissions schools, so that would be my first thought.

If not, then something has soured her to the school and a non-threatening conversation should clear it up.

Yes, it’s no big deal. She soured on it for some reason - whatever it is, it’s her choice. If you have some sort of attachment to the school, then deal with your own feelings over DCs loss of interest. But I wouldn’t try to talk her back into it, u less it’s some special case (ie Yale & you & DH & parents are all alums).

Maybe she changed her mind. Many kids do during senior year.

I would bring up the bottle as a reason for asking and talking about it. I wouldn’t be stressed out about it but I see no reason not to bring up the bottle.

This is what I'm feeling, yes. Will probably use PP's idea and bring it up generally.

And your idea, too! Geez, I am not comprehending well today.

I would be more concerned if my kid started gathering and wearing swag from a college she had not been offered a place in.

That's just asking for disappointment.

You should be glad she's over it.

Is this normal application stress, or should I be worried?

WUT?

I'm assuming OP meant throughout high school. I would feel vaguely concerned and just say something more generally like "Applying to colleges can be exciting but really stressful, how is the whole process going for you? -- or how are you feeling through all of this?" I wouldn't reference the water bottle, just provide a space to talk about what this experience is like.
