Any recommendations for DC / SS?

Yes, I was going to say the same thing. Crossfit really is next level!!

As long as you choose the right gym. There are bunch of BS CrossFit places out there. If you are working with someone who doesn’t really no what they are doing, you can get injured pretty easily.

A true CrossFit gym requires the instructors to be certified.

There is a gym in Rockville that does a lot of weight training and they also have group training that is affordable. If you are interested check out https://shorturl.at/dmrEL

I would join a gym and lift on your own. You need heavier weights and outfitting a home gym with what you would need would be very expensive.

I do OT, F45 and lift on my own at a gym. You could try out the strength days at F45 if you want the group aspect. Tues/Thurs are only strength. I find I lift heavier on my own but like F45 on days when I just want someone to tell me what to do.

If you really want to get strong you need heavier weights. What about just joining a gym to lift? I too liked the OTF environment, but wanted to lift heavier. I found that even being in the gym with other people, even if not working out together motivates me.

Since you like the group class environment you could try F45 or Burn Boot Camp. I never tried Orange Theory because I did a lot of cardio on my own but I have been going to the leg/arm/push&pull days at Burn. I am definitely lifting heavier than I would at home or in a gym by myself.

Very rare to see someone pushing themselves as hard at home as they would in either a group class or with a personal trainer. I'm a very motivated person - I've tried working out at home and I didn't enjoy the isolation, and I found myself distracted by the laundry staring at me.

I worked with an AMAZING (and very $$$$) trainer starting about 1.5 yo to kick start my midlife transformation. I did about 4 months. Then switched to Orange Theory - and I do mostly the Lift 45 / Strength 50 classes.

I m ready for the next level of weight training and am thinking about options. I LOVE the one-on-one attention of personal trainer, but not currently where I want to put $$$. Also into the group aspect of OTF, but I think I need more weight. Mmmm ... weight training at home and invest in equipment here, and in-fill with personalized training or OTF classes?

I feel very self-motivated, but don't want to isolate myself either.

Thoughts?
