She uses to take 18mg until she switched to adderall XR. Lower doses are good for her - she’s inattentive type and doesn’t have side effects from it.

Another thing to check - brand name vs generic.

Some will say there is a difference in effectiveness, I’m inclined to believe it bc our insurance will only cover brand name and I think that’s why.

16 yo takes 54 long acting. He took 72 when he was younger.

My 15 yo inattentive type takes 36. Sometimes with an afternoon booster. He’s skinny and it impacts his appetite to we skip weekends whenever possible.

His 12 yo little brother is classic ADHD and takes 54 plus an afternoon booster. Never ever skips (or chaos ensues). Eats like a horse.

What does flailing look like in your house? Just losing focus or falling asleep?

Flailing means bouncing around like a bouncy ball. Getting up and down from doing homework a few dozen times.
The concerta settles him down (no stimulant effect--very much the opposite).

Took 54 mg till around 18 and then felt it was not doing anything, doc would not do any more so quit. Oddly once they stopped felt fine without it.

that's amazing. I take 18mg and it feels like I've had 20 cups of coffee (clearly not the correct med for me--currently working with doctor to find an alternative).
But it's wild that a kid wouldn't feel anything at a much higher dose (i don't doubt him--it's just incredible how all people are different).

17y recently switched from 45mg (27mg + 18mg) to 54mg so we only had to deal with one script/pill. No real change from 45mg to 54mg.

He is 5'9 and about 150lbs. It very much wears off after 12 hrs or so and he takes a booster.

8 years and 27mg. My pharmacy seems to be out though

17yo was on 27mg for a while, found it wasn't effective last spring and has now gone up to 54mg. He went to 36mg first and then to 54 the following month, which seems to be working.
