I recently became diabetic and found that Aldi's has a surprisingly good set of GF items.

There are also a couple good GF places near you, Lilit Cafe for some bakery items and a cafe, Josephine GF for waffles, True Food Kitchen restaurant, Seoul Spice for bowls.

I’d buy some gluten free cereal, gluten free soy sauce if needed, and GF waffles and plan to include rice if cooking.

I agree, Wegmans is excellent for gluten free items and they have them clearly labeled in a particular section.

Honestly, talk to your houseguest to see what s/he needs. My gf kid doesn't eat GF bread or many of the other subs.

I second the suggestion for lots of fruit, veggies and meat/fish that you can grill.

Really kind of you to make the effort!

Maybe ask for their favorite brands of bread and cereal and stock up? My GF spouse likes Udis bread and regular oatmeal.

+1 My dad has celiac, and he eats a lot of grain-fed (feedlot) beef. You do not have to worry about buying fake meat unless they are also vegetarian.

I might make sure you have fresh fruits and veggies, and meats or fish in the house to have. But then once your guest arrives, maybe then go together to the store so she can pick out what she likes and will eat. That might save time, money, and stress for you.

Honestly, Giant is pretty good. There's a bread brand called "Schar" with all sorts of breads - ciabbata, baguette, burger buns, etc. and also all sorts of cookies/treats and a dedicated GF section, kind of a healthy foods aisle. Also some items in the freezer section nearby. (At least in the Silver Spring E/W Highway location) - including frozen donuts, frozen puff pastry, breads, etc.

thanks!

What's my best grocery store option in NW DC on close in MD?
