I'll take that award over the "pin the tail on the dummy that sat by politely while mcps screwed by kid out of a proper education " prize

Giving the IQ score isn’t going to get you a prize either. That’s not how it works here. That’s not how it works at all. If an IQ score got kids into gifted and advanced classes, we’d have at least 20x as many of those and you would question the prescience of some of the kids there because ability =/= high performance or good behavior.

However, if you believe your child needs services and accommodations through an IEP or a 504, then the neuropsychological report may bolster your request if it describes certain diagnoses and recommends said services and accommodations.

For magnet selection, I do not believe an IQ scor is taken into account. MCPS has its own criteria (grades, MAP, MCAP), and ultimately uses a lottery for in-pool students.

The lottery experiment they started during covid is slated to end this year, but they haven't said what will come next.

It was supposed to be 3 years, but we are in year 4 and they are still using lotteries. They are not going to get rid of it.

They didn't review it in time, perhaps conveniently. It's on the list to be reviewed by OSA in the spring. Any real change would happen next year. Not confident that will happen, despite there having been possible solutions to several inconsistencies noted...and ignored in favor of waiting for the review.

On the testing calendar, they are administering CogAT to 2nd graders this year. We will see what it happens.

Can you elaborate on GT/LD program? Is that same as 2e program? My ES kid has IEP with asd/adhd and meet the min. requirement IQ score of 120.

The school is going to say thank you and put it in your child’s file. Where no one is going to look at it because it probably isn’t going to have any bearing on his future in MCPS. If you want everyone to see it, send it to everyone.

They don't care. It's private school tool not used in public schools unless you need an IEP or similar.

None, I did because they didn't believe me my kid was smart due to the special needs.

I have a legitimate private detailed report includes IQ score. Any uses if I provide it to school?
