Parent of a college swimmer, I agree that you don't need to pay but it is a nominal fee (under $30, one time). It ranks your swimmer, matches your swimmer and you can get a better sense on what schools will offer you a roster spot by your Power Index. The Power Index is not perfect, but it does assist with ranking swimmers.

You don't, unless your swimmer is looking to swim in college. Then it matches you to colleges and colleges will look at your power index score, etc.

If your kid is considering swimming in college, they will need to register. It is a big tool for schools.

Metros is a USA swim sanctioned meet

It doesn’t matter. Your times are your times and if you attend meets hosted by larger clubs, their USA times will be submitted and uploaded.
Keep in mind most summer and high school meets aren’t official USA swim times. At least in the DC/PVS area.

Your swimmer likely already has an account. Search their name and “claim” it. Honestly worth the one time $29 fee to get the upgraded features, particularly as they get into high school and are thinking of swimming in college.

It calculates a power index and provides a list of match schools. Your swimmer should pay (it is a nominal fee) to register.

I have seen on here that Swimcloud is a tool for college swimming. Can a parent create an account or should the swimmer. I don't see a parent option. What does an account do for the swimmer?
