This is a school where the admin is disliked and I could see why if they can't figure out a way to make teachers meet their responsibilities.

At all other schools DCs have attended teachers usually responded within 72 hours at the latest but usually sooner.

Maybe your email was crazy

No, it was literally a quick but urgent question. This school is known for having some terrible teachers and the admin for that particular grade was a nightmare. If I named her lots of people would chime in with stories.

DC asked me to email as well so I did and I’ve heard nothing back for several days. Since the end of the quarter is coming up, it’s particularly frustrating as I assume it’ll be harder to address once the grades are finalized. I don’t email teachers as DC resolves their own problems so I have no idea if this lack of a response is typical.

I did. It took about a week.

Did the teacher mention that the issue would be resolved? If they said they were resolving an issue I would believe that. When grades are "finalized" there's always a method to update them after, it's just.more cumbersome so if the issue isn't resolved on the report card then I would go nuclear and start email the vice principal etc

I give your response a C minus. Deal with it.

Don't you know teachers in America are exploited and burned out due to poor management.

I hope you meant 2 business days.

IME, the higher the grade level, the longer the response takes. Elementary school teachers responded the quickest (often less that 24 hours), middle school teachers didn’t necessarily respond at all, and high school teachers generally respond within two business days.

Have emailed a high school teacher and haven't heard back. How many days is reasonable to wait? Teacher is not oit of office/on vacation.
