My friends and I started doing birthday dinners in high school. I still do them at age 45.

Butlers orchard is a good idea. I’ve done it several times.

Cooking class for her and her friends where they eat the dinner that they make.

Axe throwing party.

Concert at wolf trap.

Overnight camping trip.

The Board and Brew in college park.

Sandy spring adventure park.

Fancy high tea at a dc hotel (this is pricier than you would think, but at 8-10 people it would be in your budget and is very adult- depending on your daughter perhaps too much so).

Tepinyaki is always fun. You could go to a dessert place after.

When? Field of Screams in Olney is super fun with a group. They also have e bonfires and food

At that age it was all (innocent) sleepovers for us. Since that is not an option I agree with a structured outing to the city. Cool museum + lunch or dinner + dessert. Or find a kid-friendly karaoke place.

My DD did roller skating for a party - it was something fun and different. There aren't many roller rinks around but there are a couple and they have evening parties.

Fancy movie theater with food and comfy chairs.

Butler's Orchard in MD has bonfires that cost about $400. The provide the bonfire and you bring everything else. Definitely a different experience for city/inner burb kids, bet there's someplace in VA that would provide this.

Letting them go to a restaurant together by themselves was a hit at the age.

Walking around shopping in georgetown + dinner + movie.

Halloween fests? Kings dominion with just a couple of friends, or Hershey - overnight trip.

Yes! Recent parties have included sleep-overs, co-ed house parties, murder/mystery, amusement parks, meal+escape room or bowling or shopping or movie/show, skating, etc.

DD is a freshman in HS and about to turn 15. She hesitant about having a party b/c she can't come up with with any good ideas that haven't already been done to death, although I know she'd very much enjoy celebrating with her friends.

The group would ideally be about 8-10 girls, although could also be a mixed group of closer to 20 in the right scenario/budget. Hosting at our place it not an option right now.

Some ideas that have already been nixed are escape rooms, spa day, anything artistic (paint party, etc), bowling, movies (not social enough). She's open to the idea of going out to eat + an activity, although it's a tough age because they want to feel grown up and many of the traditional BD activities no longer appeal. A meal doesn't necessarily have to be part of it, but at a minimum, there'd be desserts and singing.

We're in NoVa and I'd like to keep the cost below $800 - max. Please help me come up with some cleaver ideas to make this birthday special!
